:P I'll adress that soon - nitpicker... XD
ohh how I hate painting metals, lucky I finished that yesterday.
Next steps will be easy, painting highlights, shadows and scratches above metal parts on greaves and trim here and there >_>

Have finished the "regular" painting on the two Gentlemen that are Mortarion (30K) and Calas Typhon.
Next steps is to varnish them thouroughly and give 'em some splashes of AK stripey grime. That also might be the reason you might find the contrast a bit low on them. Will have to see when I get to unpack the airbrush again.

Just some snapshots:

Just realised that I forgot to paint the iris - Doh!

Also I have been a bad bad nurgling: :maple:

According to my evil plan I try to build the Myphitic Plague Hauler as it is, converting should be easy though, with this easy-build kit. Maybe on a second one.

The Beast will be hoepfully two, from one kit, one "stock" built and another built from the leftover parts and bits I have laying around.

The drone also is going to act as bit-supplier. I have one from the dark imperium Box, which will be build "stock" as well. With the complete kit I want to get the other weapons from and use some wings of the Plague Drones instead of the little fans, virce versa, one drone is going to receive the fans. Also want to use one of the three different front-shields for the Plague Drones Gang-Leader.

So lots of Nurgle conversion love to come in the next weeks.
Next on the painting Table, is Mortarions (40K) wings. Think I do some purple-ish hue on them that seems to contrast nice with the other colours so far and incooperates well with the brown tones.

Oooooh, I am super keen on this Moto!

Loving it so far. I also have a tone of stuff from the AK range, but never got around to using them ^_^

Actually it's easier than you might expect, it's important to keep things varnished, and after that varnish again... seperating the layers of acrylics from oils and enamels it important. Just make sure to have the right varnish ;) - to make my life simple I just use the AK products.

But then Using oil-paints is easy and rather forgiving. I tried it out on a bunch of FoW Tanks for my brother and it was super easy and quick to apply.
The drying times on these, although is crazy. Even a thin layer took more than a week to dry. So one have to be patient when working with oil paints. But on the other hand it's great, you still can manipulate the results some days later.

With the grime stuff it's as well easy, slab, sprinkle or neatly apply it, use some turpentine or white spirit and whipe it off, do streaks etc. until you like it. Might want to give it a try on a piece of a sprue.

It looks very  so far. I’m interested in seeing how the AK stuff turns out. That’s an investment in paint I haven’t gotten around to yet.

Careful with those plans for the 2nd beast - I thought I'd try the same and there really isn't that much to supply from the left over bits on that kit to do much outside of sculpting the 2nd one mostly yourself and adding a tummy, face, tentacles. My 2nd one has become quite the daunting project. o_0

For all curious, that is what I managed to paint in 2x8hrs.
swords in bright orange and started to wash the first batch of Plague-Bearers. The pale green basecolour was applied prior by airbrush.
...ohh and the flies wings got their base colour, too.

still... the fair was great fun.

Oi! you know I am a master of halfbreed projects! That's my thing.

Well actually I thought on only using the face, the second set of tentacles and some of the innards left-overs. As well I wanted to ripp off Squiggies Beast idea, with the snail-shell. That'll cover up a lot.

So the plan is to create a Green Stuff blob, press crumpled aluminium-foil on the surface to recreate that skin surface, attach the bits and done.
