So as I was saying, got a new job with a raise. Friend has been trying to get me in this game for a while and tells me the publisher broke away from Fantasy Flight so MM is selling all the FF boxes at a deep discount. Same models, they aren’t changing, just has the old cards in them.

So a $100 later I get a buttload if SSU for the game DUST 1947

Cheap is good and DUST sculpts are often pretty cool (love their zombies and gorillas), but i didn't like the rules very much.

Excited to see you paint these up matey!

Question, which ruleset did you play under, because FFG tried a bunch of wonky stuff with it. One of the reasons it it’s no longer under their control.

That being said, rules aren’t horrible but lends itself to more randomness then then I typically like. But all in all I feel this is a ‘light’ war game.

The more I play games with alternating activations, more I like then. Also, being able to pull my toys from their boxes and just start playing is nice.

Flip flopping on what I’m going to paint up first, these or one of my Grail games I picked up last week. And yes I’m teasing again.

Question: the models for dust do you have to build them or do they come pre built (like x-wing)?

Also, I like it when you tease me, makes me feel special.

I played original DUST with the squared map thing, then played the original DUST Tactics when it first came out.
Admittedly, that was some time ago so memory is rather full of holes, but I do recall being less than nonplussed throughout my experience.

Phill, you can get it one of three ways. Some models are available in kits, most are available prebuilt and already primed, and a good deal are premium which are already painted. The paint job is pretty good. Not saying golden demon but a mid to high tabletop depending on the minis.

The larger the model the better the paint job on the premium.

What I have is the primed, prebuilt with a decal on the larger, but not painted.

The tease is going to have to wait because the GW is closed and some of the paints I need is only available in GW colors.

The new Starter Set looks cool, with the older kits I have some more "problems" design-wise some look really cool, others just chibi. It does not always mix well for me.

Looking forward on how you treat the comrades. Maybe you want ask for assistance, he got some experience with Russians XD
