Re: Pandemic

Yesterday I experimentally tried sawing off a section of the plastic GW legs to get the joint casing, to see if I could practically use it to cover the gap I've left at the hips by putting the legs on the wrong way around. Here's an example of the bit I cut out (without having taken the effort of cu...

Re: Pandemic

Having multi-part legs is great for getting exactly the right pose, but it also makes it difficult to assemble and make robust. Here's what I did yesterday... First I set the knee joints: the left leg as straight as possible, the right leg as bent as possible. In practice there's actually not a lot ...

Re: Pandemic

Yesterday I continued on with the feet, determined to get them completed. (Because I'm now into September, and my game is on the 22nd of this month, and I've got a week in Norway coming up with no modelling.) http://nurgle.stelio.net/Flies and Dice/plog_2018_09_01a.jpg You can see that the underside...

Re: Pandemic

More work on the knight's base last night. I did that final filling in around the turret. And I started putting together the feet. These are surprisingly fiddly to do, as they come in nine pieces: the foot, four toes, and the four pieces that connect them together. The one that goes on the ground is...

Re: Pandemic

Yesterday I started work on the knight's legs. It's not a simple task, given that the poseable legs contain so many components. Here's a start for one of the feet, where I've glued the two parts of the toes together: http://nurgle.stelio.net/Flies and Dice/plog_2018_08_28a.jpg This is for the left f...

Re: Warhammer: Conquest

one unidentified model (at the bottom-left with a power sword held horizontally in the left hand) Ah! The penultimate FAQ entry clarifies this: "Games Workshop have created a brand-new Space Marine army for this collection. The Silver Templars will have their own unique colour schemes, armour marki...

Re: Warhammer: Conquest

Having said that, it's tempting to get issue 1 solely for the cheap paint, then chop up the Primaris Space Marines for decorative casualties on bases. XD

Re: Warhammer: Conquest

Yes, it feels like quite a niche market to me. Getting one of the boxed sets for Kill Team isn't bad at all: you're getting one extra team spare for a faction you're maybe not interested in. Fine. Doesn't take up much space and you can keep it as a little side project and let friends play with your ...

Warhammer: Conquest

Announcement on Warhammer Community Official website This is an interesting development. GW have already done a partwork subscription service before with Black Library books (for the Horus Heresy series). Now they're doing the same but for miniatures, building up two armies of models (Ultramarines ...
